FAQ’s

GLASS CUSTOMER

Q: How do you ship the glass?

A: Most orders are shipped USPS priority mail. Each artwork is protected first in a layer of tissue paper or foam sheet, sandwiched between recycled cardboard and secured by rubber bands. The box is filled with recycled packing peanuts, bubble wrap or paper. It’s a no-frills, eco-conscious approach.

Q: What if my shipment arrives damaged?

A: Email dayna@dayglowartstudio.com and you will be taken care of right away! Please include photos of damaged packaging and items.

Q: What’s your return policy?

A: If you don’t love your Dayglow Glass, it may be returned for a store credit within 7 days of the shipment delivery date. Customer must safely re-pack glass items and cover return shipping costs. Dayglow Studios is not responsible for items broken or lost in return route. To initiate a return, please email dayna@dayglowartstudio.com. Pattern sales are final.

Q: Do you do custom work?

A: Custom projects and collaborations that are in line with our aesthetic and values are always welcome. Send inquiries to dayna@dayglowartstudio.com.

STAINED GLASS PROCESS

Q: How did you learn stained glass?

A: After graduating with a BFA, I took a paid apprenticeship at my former painting professor’s art studio in painting and stained glass. There, I learned how to cut, paint, fire and sandblast glass, and to lead, solder and install large scale stained glass windows.

Q: How do you stain the glass?

A: Most “stained glass artists” don’t actually create the sheets of colored glass. We get it - it’s confusing! Our process starts with sheets of stained glass purchased from a manufacturer or stained glass shop.

Q: How do you cut the glass?

A: We use a lubricated pencil-style glass scoring tool and grozing pliers to cut the shapes as close as possible, then refine the edges on a diamond-bit grinder. Some more intricate pieces are cut using a ring saw.

Q: Don’t glass shards get everywhere?

A: Yes! We always wear eye protection but small cuts are inevitable in a busy glass studio. It’s a labor of love.

Q: Where do you get your patterns?

A: All Dayglow designs are created by Dayna Anderson Lambert. Select patterns are available for purchase. All rights reserved.

Q: Do you teach?

A: Classes are in the works! Do reach out if you are located in the Savannah, GA area and are interested in private lessons.
